Hunger Facts and Stats
In 2010 we took a deeper look at hunger in the Blue Ridge, polling our clients, member agencies and volunteers about hunger situations in our community. The 2010 Hunger Study provides a comprehensive profile of hunger in our region as experienced by the people who rely on charitable agencies for food as well as those who help alleviate it.
The study was commissioned nationally by Feeding America, the largest domestic hunger relief agency in the U.S., and locally by the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
