GivingTuesday has kicked off the charitable giving season since 2012. The national campaign follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This year, the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is asking friends and supporters to make their GivingTuesday a Giving FoodDay! We aim to raise enough funds to provide 1 million meals to people in our community facing hunger.

Here’s how it works: On Tuesday, November 29, you can help feed neighbors living with hunger. Already a Food Bank supporter? Check your email on GivingTuesday for a special call to action.

The Food Bank serves an average of 109,500 people each month through its network of more than 400 partners — soup kitchens, pantries, shelters, and programs on the front lines of hunger relief.

On Giving FoodDay, you have the opportunity to help put food on the table for seniors, children, families, and others in need. And thanks to a matching gift from Wind River Chimes, every $1 you give can help us provide approximately 8 meals.

Everyone should have enough to eat.
