One out of every eight children in the Blue Ridge region goes hungry. The same is true for one out of every twelve adults in our area. Fight Hunger. Spark Change. is a nationwide campaign to spark awareness of hunger and collect money & meals for food banks. Walmart & Sam’s Club stores partnered with the Feeding America network to launch the campaign. Fight Hunger. Spark Change. ends Monday, May 20.
That’s still plenty of time to take part!
The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank invites shoppers to Fight Hunger. Spark Change. in three ways:
- Donate money at the cash register when you shop at Walmart and/or Sam’s Club
- Donate on Feeding America’s website feedingamerica.org/Walmart
- Buy a qualifying item from Walmart and/or Sam’s Club in stores or online. The product supplier will donate the cost of at least one meal ($0.10- $0.50) to benefit the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
You can track the number of meal donations by visiting www.walmart.com/fighthunger.
Last year, Fight Hunger. Spark Change. raised enough money to help provide 655,035 meals for individuals in need.
Do your part to help your community while you shop. To learn more about the campaign, visit www.walmart.com/fighthunger.
