2017 Food and Fund Drive Dates: June 5 to June 23

Valley Businesses Give Back (VBGB) is an annual food and fund drive led by local businesses and organizations in the Shenandoah Valley to raise money and collect non-perishable food to help stock the shelves of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank during the summer months. In 2017, 35 businesses donated 7,248 pounds of food and $3,958, enough to help us provide 21,872 meals to neighbors in the Shenandoah Valley this summer—twice as much as our projected goal!
VBGB began in 2011 and local business participation has increased over time. Over the past seven years, VBGB has collected a total of 54,227 pounds of food, raised $28,409, and brought together more than 100 businesses and organizations in our area to engage in hunger relief locally. We are grateful for the continued partnership and support of this effort from Hershey Chocolate of Virginia as well as the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce, Lexington-Rockbridge Chamber of Commerce, and Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce.
