Our Impact

A healthy community starts with food.

Yet 1 in 10 neighbors in the Blue Ridge is food insecure.

That’s why the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is working hard to realize its vision of nourishing food and good health—for everyone, every day.

And because we rely on community support to achieve our mission, our impact is your impact, too.

This food is so important to us. I can make sure I take home healthy things for us to eat. I want to make sure I give my kids the best.

Food transforms lives

Local children, seniors, and families of all sizes who are living with hunger are being held and helped by this community. They are receiving food and hope. Together, we are reaching underserved populations, serving more nutritious food, and providing the resources our guests need to live healthier, happier lives.

You never know who’s struggling with hunger. Somebody could be putting on a good front, but behind closed doors, they’re trying to figure out how they’re going to feed themselves and their family… It’s nice to know that you’re taking care of other people because that’s how a community is supposed to work.

I think it’s very important that the community wrap around their citizens and help everyone grow to be successful. The thing is, it doesn’t take a lot to help someone else. I am blessed that we have the Food Bank’s support, and I tell people every dollar matters.
