November 8

This fall, Scouting America is once again helping to fight hunger in our community through Scouting for Food, one of the largest food drives of the year. Scouts will be out in neighborhoods across our region collecting donations of nonperishable food for families in need.

Event Details
– Food Collection: Saturday, November 8, 2025
– Please place filled bags outside your door by 9:00 a.m. on collection day if you received Scout communication announcing collection in your neighborhood.

Most Needed Items

  • Peanut butter
  • Canned proteins
  • Pasta and rice
  • Canned fruits (low in sugar) and vegetables (low in sodium)
  • Breakfast cereal
  • Hygiene products

Please remember, avoid donating glass products and non-shelf stable products.

Why It Matters
Scouting for Hunger brings in thousands of pounds of food each year, stocking our shelves at a critical time and helping to provide meals for families during the holiday season.

We are grateful to the Scouts for their dedication and to every neighbor who fills a bag. Together, we can make sure more people across the Blue Ridge have nourishing food to share with their loved ones.
