Our final Town Hall of the calendar year will include a special discussion, facilitated by Pastor Won Un of Central UMC, with Lora Hamp, Legal Counsel and Director of Nonprofit Relations, at the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge. Lora will overview the process of creating a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization – the how and why for pursuing nonprofit status — and will discuss board governance and best practices. This will be a helpful discussion for partners that are considering establishing a 501(c)3, and our nonprofit partners interested in learning more about board governance.
