Explore Our 2025-2026 Annual Impact Report

As we reflect on the past year, one thing is clear: the need for food assistance across our region remains at an all-time high. What is also clear is that our community continues to respond with extraordinary generosity.

The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank’s 2025-2026 Annual Impact Report tells the story of a year marked by both growing challenges and remarkable impact. Between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026, the Food Bank and our network of more than 300 community partners served more neighbors than ever before in our 45-year history, averaging 178,700 guest visits each month.

During that time, the Food Bank distributed 33 million pounds of food, including 11 million pounds of produce.

Behind that number are families, seniors, veterans, and children facing difficult choices. Rising housing costs, stagnant wages, increasing healthcare expenses, and reductions in federal benefits have made it harder for many households to make ends meet.

Meet Susan

After a challenging year of health setbacks, Susan recently discovered her local food pantry in Fluvanna County. There, she’s able to get food to support her health needs.

“It took me the longest time to realize that there were good, kindhearted people out there who didn’t judge me.”

Yet, the report is also a story of hope.

It highlights the collective efforts of donors, volunteers, partners, advocates, and supporters who have come together to help ensure our neighbors have access to nourishing food.

Because we all believe that everyone should have enough to eat.
