Founded in 1981, the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is the largest organization alleviating hunger in western and central Virginia.

The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank began in 1981 in Staunton, VA with four board members and a few staff.

We are driven by our core beliefs that hunger is unacceptable; that everyone deserves access to enough food; that food sustains life and nourishes health; and that we are called to serve neighbors in need without judgement.
