GivingTuesday.org is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. They are launching #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of unity to take place on May 5, 2020, as a response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19, and one of the best ways to get involved is in your own community.
Your donations to the Food Bank can really impact a family’s ability to put food on the table. Each $1.00 can provide the equivelent of 4 meals; $5 can provide up to 20 meals.
“The Food Bank’s primary responsibility during the COVID-19 pandemic is to support and sustain our vital network of 205 community partners and distribute food to the people in central and western Virginia who are depending on us.” Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is safeguarding the welfare of employees and volunteersproviding guidance, technical assistance, continue distributing food to a growing number of neighbors in need sourcing substantially more food from multiple sources to meet the steadily increasing need for food assistance across our service area
coordinating responses with other community organizations in the Virginia Voluntary Organizations Acting in Disasters (VOAD) coalition building awareness among recently unemployed individuals about how to find food assistance in their communities.
Your donations to the school will be used towards procuring more student resources including instruments, tuners, shakers, strings, software, computers and tablets, furniture, paint, lightbulbs, etc.
